From Playing It Safe to Living the Dream

After college I was working a “successful” job that looked great from the outside—but inside, I felt stuck and uninspired. I was following a script that had been handed to me by society, family, and the world around me. I was doing what I thought I should do, not what I wanted.

At thirty, I broke free and launched my own company. And it worked—I grew it from a two-person team into a 50-person operation. But even with more money, more success, and more recognition, I found myself burned out, frustrated, and still asking: Is this it?

The truth was, I kept changing the what—but I hadn’t yet changed the why. I hadn’t stopped long enough to ask: Is this life actually built for the person I’m becoming? When I finally got honest, the answer was no. So I did something most people never give themselves permission to do - I started asking the hard questions:

• Was I happy?

• Would I choose this again?

• What did I want?

• What excited me?

• What was draining me?

A lot changed in that process. I moved states, jobs, left corporate America entirely, asked for a divorce, found the love of my life, and eventually moved abroad to a little village on a Greek island where we live an unfathomably beautiful life that I once didn’t even dare to dream of.

From that journey, I created The Joy Academy and the courses I offer today. Clients and friends alike comment on how I am now living the dream - but my passion lies in not only forging this path, but letting you know that IF I CAN DO IT, SO CAN YOU.

I combine my education in Sociology, my life coaching certification, and years of real-world reinvention to help people just like you—people who are doing fine, but want more. More purpose. More direction. More you in your life.
